How Big is the internet?

As of 2007, the Internet is already a very very large Internet, and Google Corporation is not even sure how large. Googlebots can only index a fraction of all the webpages in the world today. Google Corporation certainly has plenty of capital to buy more computers, being one of the richest companies in the world today, but the fact is that there just isn not enough electricity and bandwidth available in the world to index the ENTIRE Internet.

How Many Pages can Google Index each day?

Each and every day, Google has a very large, but MAXIMUM number of POPULAR URLs it can spider, so for large sites it is in your best interest to help Google along with the indexing process run more efficiently, using sitemaps technology etc, because this help will certainly net more of your pages being indexed.

How much effort Google does Google spend Indexing the Internet?

How much effort Google puts into spidering and indexing a website is a Google trademark secret, but Googlebots efforts are influenced by YOUR PageRank. Therefore, if your site has relatively FEW pages with a HIGH PageRank, these web-pages will all get into the Google index no problem.

However but if your website has a LARGE number of pages with LOW PageRank,according to Google, you may find that many of your website pages never make it into Googles deep index.

Clean HTML Code Matters!

Remember Google cares abouot bandwidth constraints... so keep you HTML files as small and as CLEAN of code as possible. The more real text the better! Smaller HTML files load faster, use less bandwith, and are easier for Googlebot to decipher and index efficiently --- again, Google probably rewards clean websites with a better pagerank, not that this is a fact... We all know Google pagerank algorithm is the best kept secret... but we do know this much... there are many factors and variables that go into the the pagerank formula... Your code to text ratio probably matters a little bit! What do you think?
