Canadian tourists senselessly lost in a heinous Mexican double homicide

On a travel vacation in the at a 4 1/2 star all-inclusive resort in Mexico on the Mayan Riviera, celebrating the wedding of two friends, the lives of these two women were changed forever.

On February 23, 2006, These two Canadian travellers amazingly became the unlikely prime suspects, and even today, remain the prime suspects, in an uncomprehensible and bizarre international murder investigation.

You should know, if you plan to travel to Mexico, that the lives of two other Canadian tourists, as well, were senselessly very negatively afftected in another heinous double homicide.

Do NOT think it can't happen to you

...even though you are TOTALLY innocent. This is another Mexican injustice towards Canadians who travelled to their country that has left the family of Nancy and Dominic Ianiero longing for justice, a justice that seems unlikely to prevail.

Travel advisory to Mexico

You are invited to sign the "Cheryl Everall and Kimberly Kim" petition to lobby the federal government for a temporary ban on travel to the Cancun or Mayan Riviera region, or any destinations governed under the state of Quintana Roo. It is presently UNSAFE for Canadians to travel in the Quintana Roo tourist area!

would clearly show that it is unsafe for Canadians to travel in the Quintana Roo area and highlight the dangers of the Mexican justice system. We are no different from any other Canadian citizen. Therefore, until policies are in place to protect citizens wrongfully accused of crimes they did not commit, what happened to us can happen to you! For us, it was only a matter of twelve hours that allowed us to safely return to Canada. If it wasnt for these twelve hours, we would have been arrested and put in jail, awaiting a lengthy process to come back to Canada, if at all.
If you decide to travel in Mexico, please be take note of the risk you are taking!
